Hanikra border clash
The Hanikra border clash was the shooting death of an Israeli soldier and subsequent counter-attack that ensued wounding a Lebanese soldier. On 15 December 2013, around 8:30 pm, Israeli soldier Master Sergeant Shlomi Cohen, 31,〔 was shot dead by a Lebanese army sniper while driving solo a military vehicle between the Rosh HaKira border crossing outpost.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=IDF soldier Shlomi Cohen killed in Lebanon border shooting )〕 The bullets struck him and his jeep 6-7 times on the Israeli side of the fenced Blue Line.〔
A few hours following Sergeant Cohen's death, a quick response was initiated by the Israeli Defense Force in the area. Two Lebanese soldiers were fired upon based on "suspicious activities" at the scene of the border shooting, wounding a Lebanese soldier.〔
==Aftermath==
The LAF sniper marksmen responsible for the killing was detained by Lebanese authorities who admitted the soldier of disobeying orders to engage.
